    wonderful massage

It was just a perfect match for a day tour with very good value for money. The massage was wonderful and relaxing after a long day out. Make sure to check the activity center ahead of time for planned tours.

The geothermal springs were a highlight, providing a unique experience even in chilly weather, and the ice museum was really impressive. However, the room cleanliness left much to be desired, with dusty surfaces and broken furnishings that dampened the visit.

    clean room
    amazing food
    neglected grounds
    lack of activities
    limited engagement

The Family Suite we stayed in was spacious and very clean, ideal for a family getaway. The hot springs were a highlight, providing a relaxing atmosphere, while the restaurant served amazing food, including freshly brewed coffee. However, outside the hot springs, the area appeared neglected with rundown grounds, and the lack of activities aside from the springs made the visit less engaging than expected.

    breathtaking aurora

The Aurora tour was breathtaking. I mean, watching those lights dance above while sipping hot cocoa in the yurt was something else. Plus, the hot springs were exceptional, soaking in that warm water surrounded by snow made the cold bearable and kinda magical.

It wasn’t exactly cheap, but honestly for what we got, it was still acceptable.

    comfy beds
    central location
    thermal pool
    cleanliness issues
    outdated decor

The Standard Double Room was pretty basic. Beds were comfy, but the room felt outdated. They had some cleanliness issues—the shower was dirty on check-in, and I noticed black mold around. I had to ask multiple times for housekeeping to get things sorted. Not the greatest experience there, honestly. Could be so much better with some upkeep.

    kid-friendly options

We enjoyed the hot springs, which were incredibly soothing with stunning views. The activities offered kept our family entertained, especially the Aurora viewing tours, which were truly magical. The staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable.

My kids wished for clearer guidelines on family activities. It would be great if there were more kid-friendly options, especially around the hot springs.

easy access to aurora viewing and ice museum

I had an amazing time here, especially because the aurora viewing area is just a short walk from the lodge, allowing us to witness the beautiful northern lights right outside our door, and the nearby Ice Museum is truly a unique experience worth checking out with its ice sculptures and bar.

Amazing Hot Springs and Aurora Experience

I had an incredible stay, soaking in the warm hot springs while surrounded by snow—it was truly magical! The area felt a bit touristy at times, but overall, it was a fantastic getaway for relaxation and adventure.

    incredible hot springs
    stunning ice sculptures
    warm viewing room
    poor dining
    inconsistent service
    communication issues

Chena Hot Springs has its unique charm. The hot springs are incredible, especially in winter with snow all around. Soaking in the warm water feels magical. The ice museum is a must-see. Ice sculptures were stunning. I enjoyed watching the northern lights from the warmth of the viewing room, a highlight of my stay. But there were issues. The dining options fell short. Breakfast was mediocre. my eggs were dry and hard, quite disappointing. Service was inconsistent. I faced an inconvenience during a blackout. no flashlights were available in the room. It felt a bit unprepared for emergencies. The staff was friendly, but improvements in communication and dining quality would make a big difference. Overall, this spot is special for its natural wonders, yet it could benefit from more attention to guest experiences.

The hot springs were such a treat! Relaxing in the warm water while surrounded by snow was a magical experience. The rustic yet quaint decor was charming, adding to the cozy ambiance of the Resort.

perfect base for hot springs and ice museum adventures

During our stay, we loved being just a few steps from the aurora ice museum and the relaxing hot springs, which made it so easy to enjoy the area's top attractions without hassle. we had a family room that was comfortable and spacious for our needs, perfect for a weekend getaway. the only downside was the experience we had with an intoxicated employee that disrupted part of our northern lights tour, but overall we had a great time exploring the area.
